Cornate d'Adda, December 2007 - Compel Electronics SpA, www.compel.it, a leading international company in the design and manufacture of interconnection systems and cable assemblies, has extended the range of its SMB series coaxial connectors by introducing new version for PCBs.
The SMB connectors are part of a fairly versatile and practical series in that they are supplied with a snap-on coupling system. This system allows a quick connection between the male connector and the female connector.
This leads to advantages in terms of saving time during the coupling manoeuvres. The possibility of using the connectors even in zones which are difficult to access due to lack of space remains, in any case, guaranteed: no particular tooling is needed for the connection/disconnection of these connectors.
These new types that have been designed can be used on all the different types of support for PCBs available on the market.
The connection to the printed circuit board is carried out by means of the traditional wave-soldering method for dip solder types (with the pins passing through the board) or by reflow soldering in the oven for SMT types.
Both straight and right-angled versions have been carried out.
Amongst the latter types there is a version with a screw nut and washer for additional fixing to the front panel.
These connectors are supplied in gold-plated version.
Other types of finish or shape can be studied on request.
