Cornate d’Adda, october 2007 – Compel Electronics Spa, www.compel.it, a leading international company in the design and manufacture of interconnection systems and cable assemblies, has extended its already vast range of 1.0/2.3 coaxial inserts.
These connectors have been designed with a spring mechanism so that they can be blocked inside the plastic housing of the connectors, in line with the standard DIN 41612 Type M.
The coupling between male and female inserts, therefore, takes place automatically by means of the mating of the plastic connectors.
It is possible to carry out multiple matings (up to 6 inserts at the same time).
Different straight or right-angled modules are available, suitable for the most common types of cable and they can be assembled with the normal tooling in use for connectors of this series.
Other versions foresee an exit with attachment to the printed circuit and can be welded at the same time as the terminals of the DIN connectors.
The interface of these inserts is standardised and allows connectors with 50 ohm and 75 ohm impedance to be carried out, which can, however, be connected to each other.
Of particular interest is the 75 ohm male/female adaptor whose features allow you to use the male side as an insert in the DIN 41612 housing, while the female side can accept standard male connectors of the “snap-on” or “push-pull” type.
