THE NEW MECO CONTINUOUS LINE
CONNECTORS CONTROLLED AND GUARANTEED THICKNESSES OF GOLD
THANKS TO THE NEW MECO CONTINUOUS LINE FOR COMPEL CONNECTORS CONTROLLED AND GUARANTEED THICKNESSES OF GOLD, EXCLUSIVELY WHERE NEEDED
Cornate d’Adda, september 2007 Compel Electronics Spa, www.compel.it, a leading international company in the design and manufacture of interconnection systems and cable assemblies, avails itself of the company LA DOR, which belongs to the Compel Group and is totally controlled by the same Compel, for the surface plating of all their own connectors.
LA DOR started operating in this specific and important sector during the 70s at the same time as Compel started manufacturing connectors and has continued to develop and introduce innovations over the years, thanks to the constant research work carried out by its in-house Technological Laboratory, together with Compel’s Research and Development department, with the aim of obtaining ever more efficient and low-cost interconnection surfaces.
In this context, for the manufacturing of contacts for metric connectors and, in general, for all multipin connectors, the new MECO Continuous Line has been introduced, a ‘Reel to Reel Plating’ system for the continuous plating of contacts on a bandolier or pre-cut metal ribbons.
This line works alongside a similar already existing one, but with lower production capacity, and meets the fundamental requirement to have controlled and guaranteed thicknesses of gold exclusively where needed, i.e. in the male-female contact zones, and not anywhere else.
