UNI EN ISO 14001 Certification.
COMPEL IS GROWING IN ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY
Cornate d’Adda, June 2007 – Once again in 2007 Compel Electronics Spa, www.compel.it, a leading international company in the design and manufacture of interconnection systems and cable assemblies, has re-confirmed its commitment towards the environment taken on in 2006 when it obtained the UNI EN ISO 14001 Certification.
The certification supervision which was concluded during the last few days of May expressed a more than positive opinion and the certifying body CSQ has re-qualified Compel’s Environmental Manage-ment system for the second year.
The valuable work carried out by Compel’s Environmental Committee now requires a greater commitment. Environmental needs are going to require the involvement also of the R&D sector as far as new Compel connectors are concerned.
The aim is to give clear proof of the greater sustainability of the products in terms of their impact on the environment; an aspect which is strongly felt by some North European customers.
Already since the beginning of 2007, Compel has implemented improvement operations in the production area. One example is represented by the re-using of waste cardboard as a filling material in the packaging of the product, thanks to the use of a special machine.
Now the future seems to be centred on the use of photovoltaic panels to establish partial independence and total ecology in energy use.
All these different operations and investments are to the advantage of the product, with the aim of offering our customers connectors which are becoming more and more sustainable.
