Cornate d’Adda, may 2007 – Compel Electronics Spa, www.compel.it, a leading international company in the design and manufacture of interconnection systems and cable assemblies, has extended its range of coaxial terminations. Doing so rightly completes the most common series of coaxial connectors which have been being manufactured and used for over 30 years in all applications within the sector.
As is well known, the terminations have the function of terminating a coaxial line with its characteristic impedance. It is for this reason that 50 ohm terminations and others at 75 ohm have been developed depending on the connector series it belongs to.
For the same reason, the working frequencies vary: going from 1 GHz for the 1.6/5.6 series to 18 GHz for the SMA series.
During the project study and manufacturing, particular attention has been paid to electrical requirements, trying to optimise as far as possible the reflection value. This is extremely important, above all in laboratory applications where the accuracy of the measurements depends greatly on how effective the accessories being used are. Compel Electronics’ experience comes from its continuous and prolonged manufacturing of various cable assemblies, couplers, splitters and all those other products which require an electrical check on reflection or attenuation.
The range of coaxial terminations covers the most common series of coaxial connectors, such as 1.0/2.3, 1.6/5.6, SMA, BNC; while other types for the series N and 7/16 are being designed.
Compel Electronics is at your disposal to analyse any particular requirements.
