Its new series of MC – Card connectors

Compel Electronics Spa, a leading international company in the design and manufacture of interconnection systems and cable assemblies, has developed a new series of connectors called MC-Card.
It is a series of miniaturised connectors, sometimes used as an alternative to MMCX coax connectors, and is therefore suitable for use where there are problems of space and also small-size cables have to be used.   The snap-on coupling feature guarantees reliable interconnections and allows the connector to be completely rotated.
The most interesting type of this series is, however, the female with an integrated switch for SMT assembly.
This connector is used mainly on the boards for portable computers with wireless system:  the presence of the switch means it can be connected to a more powerful external antenna (which is also available, on request), automatically disconnecting the interconnection with the computer’s internal antenna during the coupling of the connectors.
The connector has an internal spring mechanism which allows a high number of reliable and repetitive couplings (more than 5000 manoeuvres).
This item can be supplied either loose or fitted onto a reel for pick-and-place assembly onto the printed circuit board.
