R & D
COMPEL's R&D staff is continuously engaged in improving existing products and in designing innovative products and solutions, paying great attention to both performance and costs.
COMPEL's R&D engineers and scientists work with the latest CAD/CAM systems, integrated with suitable Electromagnetic Simulation SW, in order to reduce development time and to increase the final product performance and reliability.
COMPEL's R&D facility is at the disposal of our Customers for co-design or special designs of electro-mechanical interconnection systems. Our long standing experience allows the development of customized connectors, electrical and optical adapters, jumpers and Back Panel layouts, including the Signal Integrity Analysis.

MANUFACTURING
COMPEL's manufacturing facilities accommodate low, medium and high rate production.

COMPEL's Process Engineers have the task to:

• Define the manufacturing rules and the manufacturing process optimization
• Define the production tools and the related process time
• Design, build, install and maintain all the related production tools
• Support the Manufacturing Lines and implement new features
• Hold operators training

Thanks to these activities COMPEL's Manufacturing Department can make use of, in its plants in Italy, Germany, Spain and China, highly automated assembling robots where the volumes are sufficiently high and semiautomatic tools for smaller quantities.
COMPEL is able to provide directly, by means of one of its controlled Companies, all the needed surface treatments, both galvanic and chemical, including special solutions in material or selective process.

COMPEL also has complete production lines for semi-rigid cable assemblies, with several coaxial cable trim machines and programmable bending machines and, consequently, being able to meet the most demanding requirements in cable assemblies.

Fibre Optic products, such as connectors, adapters, attenuators and jumpers / pigtails are manufactured by means of similar structured lines, facing both standard and custom requirements.

Regarding its Back Panel Assembly activity, COMPEL owns a long standing consolidated experience, with more than 300,000 BPAs supplied so far. Today COMPEL has two facilities in Italy and another one in China, for a total of 6 Assembly and Test Lines, completely equipped with automated lines able to process any type of Press-Fit and Solder Connectors, both signal and power size.

COMPEL provides specific operations to test all his assembled products, from cables to BPA, by an extensive use of dedicated machines and systems. Test operations are carried out by means of manual/semiautomatic machines or full automatic ones, depending on the production volumes or specific considerations.
For this purpose, COMPEL relies on his own Test Engineering Departments to design, build, debug and release all required test solutions, both manual and automatic, developing the relevant HW and SW or optimizing existing equipment.
